parlez-vous anglais? spreekt u engels?
ok, the weather has taken a nice turn for the better and its sunny. but that aside, i will be tackling the beauracracy here in french tmr. wish me luck. basically to get my work permit finalised, i have to present myself at a commune (town hall) and say i'm here dude so give me my number (like a FIN aka foreign NRIC) plus hand in some papers and i am totally gonna skip the part where i explain that i will be moving to another area within 2 weeks or so. haha.
i hope i can make myself understood and with that, i could very well be starting work on monday. so wish me luck (again).
appartment hunting has been rather fruitless but oh well, i have more places to see next week so i am not despairing. ha, and being in 2 different language zones on a daily basis is seriously something. i always feel so inadequate when i want to express myself but i cant. and shit man, i thought like last year was the last time that i'll experience that but here i am one year later. but oh well, at least i am picking some words and phrases up, i hope.

in other news...i have just realised how easy it was for singaporeans to just get visas like that. i mean, its always a administrative matter. its not like you will be denied your visa. but if you are nigerian, you could be denied a visa 95% of the time. and part of the application process, you have to dress up in like a suit or something and go to the embassy for an interview. that's tough! and the interns that get here are so happy that they were granted the visa!
and if you are columbian, you go through endless checks at the airport. they make you unroll all your clothes and poke holes in the soles of your shoes. but i suppose you know why they do that.
