my week

well, this had indeed been a hectic week.

last weekend, as you might have gathered, a group of Singaporeans (Abel and friends) came down to Berlin from Copenhagen on their last leg of their easter break. Really exciting. It was so nice to hear Singaporean voices and have people on your same wavalength and not having to explain about weird comments/nuances/expressions every now and then. Well, not that I don't like doing that, its refreshing and everything, hanging out with Europeans/angmohs, but just that the familiarity of it all was just so welcomed. i really enjoyed your company guys, even though i've only just met most of you! (if you are reading this!) And it was great having you around too, Abel!!

then school started. lessons are crazy. i don't understand most of them. thing is, i was so nervous about it and started searching high and low for lectures in english. and applying for them as well. But, when i started talking to my friends, they are all having major problems understanding their lectures also and yet, most of them are sticking to their original plan. so maybe, i should too? well, i'm not too worried about that, i'll see how it goes next week.

and then, my residence permit problem. which i can't really do anything about it because worrying about it wont help solve the problem. i just hope that the authorities have things settled soon.

so, because i haven't quite decided which courses to take, i have been going to all the classes that i'm open for. oooh, good news is that i'm skipping a level for german lang. yay. this level that i'm doing is kinda easy. hahah, so i'm gonna go for the next one! and the teacher actually told me to change classes! imagine that. and most people in my current class have been doing german lang for 1-2 years. so i'm quite glad about that.

ohhh and i started ballet today! FINALLY. but the sad news is that the class is boring. and not challenging enough. so i was a super show off when we did turns. no singles for me, thanks. and i couldn't believe it when we were made to do classical walks and runs. And we had to do the step-pas-de-bouree thingie down the diagonal. i was like huh? and this class is the HIGHEST level. but there were good parts though. we had beats in the centre and at the barre, which was good. And only 3 people wore tights and leotards, like we do back at home in class. the rest of the people were wearing gym clothes. But, i did meet this other girl in the class who had been doing ballet for very long- longer than me. so this class was easy for her too. but it was good just to work those muscles again and had that 2 hours of ballet. gosh, i really miss it. but my stamina is just kaputt.

i just watched Amearican History X. really really really good. love edward norton. a tad too violent, but this is some film. watch it. and no, i did not watch it in german.
on the subject of films, i did watch a german movie last weekend. didn't really understand it. but it was fun and it was set in berlin so i was like..ooh, i recognise that place! it was actually an easy film being a rom-com and all, though i didn't feel that it can compare to the rom-coms of hollywood.

easy jet is having MAJOR offers till this tuesday for all flights till end june.
booked my flight to Copenhagen. will be going at the end of may. Road trip!
paris in 3 weeks.
but now, its sorting out the classes and residence permit!
