ballet class & piano recital
ok, details details! yes, here are some details of my ballet class that i had.
(haha, if u are not ballet-inclined, skip this part!)
ya, i know its really big-headed to say that the class was too easy, it being the highest level the uni offers and all, but it really was!!
yes, ok, to be more technically correct, it wasn't step-pas-de-bourrée, it was more like the chassé-pas-de-bourrée thingie that we do in preparation for the double pirouettes - well, we had to do that, minus the pirouettes. i was like, what!?!?
but we did had somewhat challenging stuff. like plies in the centre. some weird sissonne fermée thingie that had to be done in croisé direction. and we had beats - changements with beats.
the class could be better, but imagine if it was worse.
oh, and it was in German! hahah. fun though. and i understood it because, the teacher used the french terms. ballet is universal!
-------------------------
went to some piano recital. free of course! yay, love free stuff! it was unbelievable. i couldn't believe that it was a student concert. the standard was top-notch. i knew about this concert because there is a music student staying in the same storey as me in this hostel. the first piece was a Brahms, 2 pianos. it was insane. and the way they just bang on the keys, you would think that they need to tune the piano everyday. that concerto lasted 1 hour and the crazy guy memorized the whole thing. was brilliant though.
second piece was by Franck, don't really know who that was but they were 1 piano and 1 cello. *shozzy wishes that she got to watch it too, right?* really really really good.
now, i know. i had always thought that music students in Singapore were pretty good. those that they have here in Berlin - excellent.
i'll probably just wait for summer and take advantage of the numerous free cultural stuff.
