its aliiiive!

yes, so its alive. but email me for my real blog address as some wierdos have got a hand on this page and seriously i am going to abandon this blog and let it disintegrate and die its cyber-death.

so let this be the day that we remember the good times we had been through and bless it on its e-journey to e-heaven!

let the good times roll!

and yes, sophia is still alive.
fell from the bike but still alive.

My parents were here!

well, yes they were and I certainly enjoyed lots of good food while they are here. And of course a chance to travel abit with them, and most importantly see them and show them that i am doing alright here.

work's definitely getting better. i kinda know what i am doing now, so that's good. and i have a project to manage, so at least, its something to accomplish!

and yes, a lack of posts, but that's because, this is seriously not like erasmus. hahaha.

ok. and i'm running some calculations now but the computer is being unreasonably uncooperative. rawr.

Weekend in Hasselt

Well, believe it or not, this was my first full weekend in Hasselt. And Lindsay and Michelle came to visit and stayed over! And we went shopping and had afternoon coffee. The coffee came with biscuits and chocolate! And it was served in a little pretty tray. In the evening we went to a nice place for dinner al fresco and there was a garden and it was great to relax really. To sit down and watch the world go by. And it was my first time in weeks that i literally did nothing the entire weekend.

Here is the part of town which is a 5 min walk from my place. The shopping street also starts here. Good to know heh?

1 month already

well, its been more than a month since i have been here and i must say that i haven't really realised it. you know, once you get used to the work routine, the days just pass and viola, its a month!

well, last weekend, i went to see stephanie and bert and the boys and it was great. went to see some castles in the area and had a picnic on a nice sunny day and finished off with a dinner in antwerp and i got to see a bit of the city and i simply have to go back again! ok, i will try to put up pictures soon but we'll see. haha.

and i've got furniture too! so furniture down, electrical applicances to go!

and now, my parents are coming in just over a week's time and there lots to do! so it will be to brussels, antwerp, brugge, hamme and hasselt of course.

on another frivolous but nevertheless critical note, my hair is still ever so short. i want it to grow!!!!!

Kerkhofstraat 48, 3500 Hasselt, Belgium

Me and the other intern for Nike. We are neighbours!

I have a fireplace that is boarded up.

View from my bed and that's the kitchen. And don't mind the mess, this was taken 1 hour after i reached my new place.

Kitchen! And i went mad in Carrefour buying food and utensils for cooking and eating and cleaning stuff and sheets for the bed, pillows and blankets. Ikea soon, i hope!

Carrefour! Where the car broke down and we were stranded for 1.5 hours with 3 trolleys full of stuff but that's another story. Important part is that we got back and unpacked and i like my new place!

Hasselt, here i come!

My new room in Hasselt! its not big but very comfortable for me! the toilet (shared between 3 people) is outside my room and my kitchen is on the right.
the street where i will live for the next 11 months!

the town centre of hasselt at night.
and the cafes on the square open even on sundays!
Well, now I am finally settled and the landlord's son lives downstairs and they are all very friendly! and there is some street music event in Hasselt next weekend so it should be all very exciting. For now though, its back to work tomorrow.

Guess who i saw last weekend...

yes, i saw Sarah!

1st week over

so this is first week of work down and 51 weeks to go! oh my it does seem long like that.

well, i have been looking at apartments and i saw a nice studio in hasselt and its frunished! and new and in a good location with fridge, internet and tv, plus a bathroom and kitchenette and a good rent! what else could i want (hahah, a lot actually but we'll get there later) and i want it!!! But we'll know only by monday. *crosses fingers*

work has been ok. really busy and i'm really tired at the end of the day, but oh well, i suppose, it will become better in the coming weeks when i'm used to it. the people there are very friendly and they speak great english so that definitely helps... me, that is! haha.

last weekend, i was in Brugge, which is so pretty! And i'll probably go back soon!

all i need now is a couch and some nice bedsheets and cushions, but i think i am getting ahead of myself! oh, yes, and a bicycle!

In Brugge (in a thousand words or more)

Brugge or Bruges or howeveryoucallit is sooo pretty! With the little bridges and streams, its a dream! I was there last weekend to visit Louise's hometown.

At Louise's parents place, preparing dinner! The house is so amazing! With light coming in from sunroofs and a little garden at the back, complete with a pond.

Brugge (pronounced "Broh-her" or "Brouge")

Enjoying dinner!

Oh, its so pretty!
